I was thrilled to read the news coming from De Jong Marinelife Fish Nursery in the last few days that they’ve successfully captive-bred and raised Amphiprion milii, other wise known as the West Australian Clownfish. Endemic to this area, these fish are notable for the brown color spread throughout the spinous dorsal fin and upper back which can clearly be seen in the images of the juveniles shared by De Jong. For more information on this interesting species, read this article by Joe Rowlett at Reefs.com
I sincerely hope that some of these clownfishes make it to the UK and I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for them (let me know if anyone spots any in the trade!)
