Gobiodon

Like miniature living jewels, the coral or clown gobies of the Gobiodon genus are strong candidates for the reefer-keepers award of “all-time best thing in a small package”. Not just attractive in appearance and generally benign in behaviour, their diminutive size and sedentary habits make them suitable candidates even for small reef aquaria. With requirements that aren’t unusually demanding, they are also readily available and not expensive… and they are also absolutely fascinating! If you can’t tell already, I love coral gobies, in fact I’ve had one in every reef I’ve ever maintained. So let’s take a closer look at the genus and its care in captivity.
